Am I Suitable?
As with any cosmetic surgery procedure it is important to keep realistic expectations in mind to avoid disappointment. Most surgeons will tell you that what you need to be striving for is an improved appearance rather than the perfect one, and if this is what you seek, then you will be much happier with the results
Another factor that can apply to most cosmetic surgery procedures is age. Though there is no specific age limit involved with these treatments, a lot of surgeons will not perform breast augmentation surgery on someone under the age of around sixteen. The reasons are clear and are particularly appropriate when it comes to breast augmentation surgery and these mainly concern that people under this age are still growing and developing.
There are a number of other factors, however, when considering if you are suitable for breast augmentation surgery. These factors will be discussed between you and your surgeon during your consultations. For starters health issues must be taken into account and so medical conditions must be discussed with your surgeon otherwise you will be putting yourself in unnecessary risk. All surgeries have a small risk with them so making sure your surgeon knows everything about your physical health will make you safer and help to ensure your procedure, and also your recovery time, goes as smoothly as possible.
Clearly the procedure is intended for women who wish to increase and improve the size and shape of their breasts. You may feel that your breasts are too small, causing you concerns in terms of confidence, especially in terms of swimwear. As a result of smaller breasts you may feel that your clothes do not fit around your chest even though they are tight around your hips. You may also feel that your breasts are no longer satisfactory following childbirth or weight loss. On top of these reasons you could also wish to undergo surgery as your breasts are uneven and asymmetrical, or you have a congenital deformity on both or just one of your breasts.
Before your surgery, you will also discuss with your surgeon how to prepare for the procedure, making sure you are in a physical position to undergo it, this might include avoiding certain medications as well as making sure that your wishes are realistic.
